The Challenge
In today’s growing relationship economy women are
being called upon to lead in new areas of ministry and the
marketplace, yet still represent one of the largest underdeveloped
and under-utilized segments of the church.
Department of Labor reports that the women’s labor
force growth is expected to increase at a faster rate than
men’s in spite of a recent Washington Post study that
discovered the majority of women already feel rushed or pressed
for time.
Women live with tremendous stress; not only time constraints,
but also disconnection from other female relationships and
with the impact of major life events like divorce, widowhood,
moving, and infertility. Looking at the 22% drop in church
attendance as well as the decline in volunteering further
confirms the stress on women.
In order to address these issues some organizations have
chosen to offer quality motivational conferences, but motivation
without tools, training, or accountability leads to frustration
and momentum for change is often lost. Unfortunately no marketing
data for reaching Christian women or knowledge of their needs
exists. Most business books and seminars are written for
men, which compartmentalize learning, and fail to address
the holistic
lives of women.
